Lisa Folkmarson Käll is an Associate Professor (Docent) of Theoretical Philosophy and Research Associate at the Center for Dementia Research (CEDER), Linköping University. She received her Ph.D. in Women’s Studies from Clark University, USA with a dissertation on the issue of sexual difference in feminist theory (2004) and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Center for Subjectivity Research, University of Copenhagen, Denmark with a dissertation on Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s philosophy of bodily and linguistic expression (2007). Her research brings together phenomenology with current gender research and feminist theory to inquire into questions concerning embodied subjectivity, bodily constitution of sexual difference and sexual identity, pathological and normative bodily self-objectification, intersubjectivity, and the relation between selfhood and otherness. She is currently working on a project on alterations of self-experience in age related dementia. She also has an interest in political philosophy and especially questions concerning the relation between the individual and political community in anarchist theories.
